HAPPY FRIDAY!

I’m happy to report that the ALL THE DEAD BOYS stop on the haunted shot crawl at Twin Ponds Lodge in Maine was a huge success!

.

It was sexy.

It was scary.

It was sloppy and sticky.

And it was soooo much fun to create.

We were five people total (Dan, Eric, Andrew, Helio, and I), and we managed to whip up the most demonic of backwoods rituals that left all the Twin Ponds boys wanting more.

We took over the outdoor ‘play area’ (aka The Cockpit) and set up our shot serving station on Saturday morning.

.

This meant lugging the coven of demonic cult members I crafted from masking tape, fence post foam, and PVC pipe deep into the forest.

There were six of the ‘faux’ coven.

Plus the five of us.

We all had matching black cloaks and masks, so it really did seem like a full-on magical gathering.

.

We only allowed one person at a time into the clearing.

They entered through a stack of piled-up picnic tables, a sling, and the ass eating bench that normally populate the Cockpit. This meant they couldn’t see what was waiting for them until they entered.

We had our pre-recorded soundscape (along with a lil Pan-chant I wrote) playing on a loop to set the mood.

Once they were in, they were greeted with the skeletal (ass up) remnants of a previous ritual.

.

.

.

Eric and Dan were down to offer up body shots, so we centered our ritual around the red leather bench where they took turns undressing and lying down as the shot was poured out onto their flesh.

.

One by one, the shot crawlers slurped up their liquor (or water) from either the small of Dan’s back or Eric’s chest. We went with a Fireball and Rum Creme mix that looked nothing like cum.

.

They each reacted differently.

Some were terrified.

Some were curiously uneasy.

Some were horny and handsy.

I do think that each and every one of them enjoyed their two-minute ritual encounter.

.

And it was sooooooo much fun for us.

We had around 30 or 40 guys come through.

I’d lead them out to the waiting crowd afterwards, and the smiles were HUGE.

.

Will we be back at Twin Ponds Lodge next year?

Who knows.

But it sure was fun to create something ‘experiential.’

It felt like an interactive micro-theater performance piece.

(With nearly naked dead boys!)

I already have some ideas for the glory hole shack if we end up back again next spooky seaosn!

.

The other thing that was so great about it was that - other than a few mentions here in DIRTY LITTLE FRIDAYS - I didn’t have to market and organize the night at all.

.

I was able to stay 100% focused on the presentation and aesthetic.

I don’t think anyone was there because of ALL THE DEAD BOYS. It was just a pleasant, sloppy surprise for the guys who were there.

With so many new people here this week, I decided to dip into the archive and pull out some pics of Alex.

After checking, I don’t actually think I’ve ever sent him your way before…

Though I can’t be sure because my entire Kit sending history was deleted along with my account.

Now that I’ve figured out how I’ll be sending DIRTY LITTLE FRIDAYS for the foreseeable future (and the shot crawl is over), I wanna get back to the stuff I was working on in October before the newsletter debacle.

.

THE BACKWOODS BOYS ZINES!

My October was all about showing up on IG and serving up some BACKWOODS BOYS. I gave myself the challenge to post every day in October and see what happened.

I came up with the ‘container’ of BACKWOODS BOYS.

This summer, I’d shot a series of guys (Eric, Joe, Dan, Nicholas and Kodiak) here in Maine, and I really started to lean into the BACKWOODS BOYS aesthetic.

There’s just something about a sexy redneck that hits like a punch in the gut for me.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this promo page I made for the Backwoods Boys Zines is what the bots/humans at Kit had a problem with.

.

Which makes me all the happier to no longer be on their platform.

I did some digital SOLOZINES last year (they were raunchy enough to get me kicked off Stripe). But I want to do more with making actual physical zines you can hold in your hands.

I’m hoping to get at least one (hopefully more) of these zines ready in the next few weeks.

My goal is to finish 3 by the end of the year.

Speaking of goals - because I do tend to use this newsletter as an accountability tool…

.

If you’ve been here a while, you might remember I set a goal to get 500 new DIRTY LITTLE FRIDAYS subscribers by the end of the year.

.

I came up with 31 DAYS OF BACKWOODS BOYS as a tool to make that happen. I also printed a bunch of flyers and postcards, which I sent out into the world with the highest of hopes.

I’m happy to report that I already hit 500!

.

Apparently, showing up and posting on IG every day can really help people find your stuff. I thought those days were over, but good to know.

.

.

So my new goal is to get 3 new physical SOLOZINES out and in your hands (literally) by the end of the year.

So let me know who you wanna see more of.

The BACKWOODS BOYS zines will be solos. One guy. One zine.

.

ANOTHER GOAL - I want to have an ALL THE DEAD BOYS table at next year’s QUEER ZINE FAIR in NYC!

.

I recently acquired a collection of First Hand magazines from the early 80’s on eBay and got super inspired by the size and paper feel. And I’ve always been a huge fan of Physique Pictorial.

.

I almost forgot - ALL THE DEAD BOYS is actually featured in the new issue of Physique Pictorial!

.

They did a whole spread and interview, which, come to think of it, probably also helped me gain those 500 new subscribers.
