What a crazy couple of weeks it's been.

These last two Fridays were the first I've missed since I started sending out DIRTY LITTLE FRIDAYS over two years ago.

In case you didn't see any of my posts on IG, my email service provider kicked me off their platform and gave me a 24-hour notice before deleting my account.
.
Talk about a sucker punch to the gut.

They refused to give me any explanation.

No specifics on exactly what they had an issue with.

“Our compliance department has decided you aren’t a good fit for our platform.”

I've been sending the same sweaty, sexy, smutty emails to you guys from day one.

I'm not sure what triggered this sudden decision, but I assume it was some bot who’d been tasked with hunting down dicks…?

I mean, I know we all loved JOE from Friday 10/10 (iykyk), but did his 🍌 get me booted?

I wish I could say it was the first time this has happened.
But it isn't.

I've been kicked off Mailchimp.

Banned from using Stripe.

IG deleted my @allthedeadboys account without ever responding to questions about why.

And now I've been shut down by Kit.

But DIRTY LITTLE FRIDAYS is back!

I’ve found a new home with an email service (Buttondown) that has explicitly said from the start that they don’t have issues with “adult” content.

Hopefully, this new setup will work for the long haul.

I've never liked being at the mercy of platforms, especially the big tech ones.

And in these dark times, I think things are going to get worse before they get better.

Of course, all of this went down as I was one week into my (self-imposed) IG challenge 31 DAYS OF BACKWOODS BOYS. I'd been showing up and posting there every single day - talking about the BACKWOODS BOYS (like Kodiak) and of course DIRTY LITTLE FRIDAYS.

Tomorrow night I’ll be at Twin Ponds Lodge in Albion, Maine for the ALL THE DEAD BOYS stop on their “Haunted Shot Crawl” through the forest.

There will be five of us (including Dan and Eric), and we’ll be staging a backwoods ritual that culminates in a “cum shot” (Fireball whisky and rum creme) done off the body of a stripped down dead boy.

I curated a shelf of my underseen spooky season favorites for Movie Madness in Portland, Oregon. In case you need something to watch - or just don’t wanna see spooky season end (does it ever really end?) here are some recommendations.

THE BROOD

Hands down, my favorite horror movie of all time. You’ll never look at a kid in a snowsuit the same again.

TOM AT THE FARM

The rough-around-the-edges rural French Canadian redneck queer love story of your nightmares.

THE UNTAMED

Too few people know about this one. Beautifully shot and sexy as fuck (whether you’re into tentacle fucking or not)

TOAD ROAD

This one makes me sick to my stomach. But I’m also unable to look away. That’s a good thing when it comes to horror - right?

SUN DON’T SHINE

82 minutes of gritty Sunshine State mumblegore perfection. I watch this whenever I need a reminder that you don’t need much to make a kickass indie movie.

IT’S ALIVE

Somehow, there’s a really touching story about parenthood wrapped up in this murderous mutant baby monster flick from 1974.

SNOWTOWN

As real and disturbing as it gets. Made all the more unsettling because it’s based on a true story. NOT for the faint of heart.

STRANGER BY THE LAKE

Probably doesn’t count as underseen, but it’s queer ‘horror’ at its creepiest, sexiest, uncut best.

CLIMAX

This is one I return to again and again. As harrowing as it is exhilarating. This is what teenage me thought would happen if I did acid.

SWALLOWED

I mean - it’s my baby, so of course I’m gonna recommend it! AND it’s currently streaming for free on Amazon Prime.

BUGCRUSH

This is my first short film - and in a lot of ways, it’s where ALL THE DEAD BOYS started. It was one of the first things I made entirely ‘for myself’. I was making exactly the creepy, sexy, queer horror film I’d always wanted.
