My shoot with Raury was planned months in advance and I was actually surprised when it ended up happening exactly as planned.

It was worth the wait.

On top of being great to photograph and super sweet, Raury is also an artist.

Raury Undressed by Michael Petit Jr (Raury’s alter ego:) is a show of his self-portrait Polaroids at Chez Est in Hartford, CT. It’s happening on December 13th.

THE HAPPILY EVER AFTER THAT COULD HAVE BEEN…

There’s been so much love for Randy and Benson from THE PASSENGER.

I love these guys.

Both the fictional Randy and Benson, as well as Johnny and Kyle, who brought them to life.

.

At the moment, I’m actually wearing this knockoff version of ‘the sweater’. IYKYK. There’s a pricier version I loooove here.

I also have one of the originals from the film for special occasions :)

.

I knew we were making something special when we did the film, but the type of fandom it’s inspired is fucking amazing. Multiple people have sent me pics of their Randy and Benson tattoos. I saw some great Randy and Benson Halloween costumes. I get a regular stream of DMs and even letters in the mail about the film and the boys at the heart of it.

And of course, there’s the Tumblr art.

I never get tired of seeing this HEA play out on Tumblr.

Zines are real-live hold-em-in-your-hands physical and (for now) it’s one guy, one zine.

The Benzine (that’s what I call the Ben Ryan zine in my head as I work on it) is a bit different.

I think that one is a bigger project.

He’s the ‘dead boy’ I’ve shot more than any other, and I have thousands and thousands of shots of him to work with.

There’s a narrative in Ben’s story that I want to get just right.

Every time I’ve ever run a poll like this, there is one very clear winner…

I also just found these and they’re soooo good. Part workbook. Part quote collections from creative people like Dennis Cooper, David Byrne, Henry Rollins and Björk. Beautifully presented and oh so tactile.
