HAPPY FRIDAY!
Wow.
There isnât any form of exhaustion quite like indie film exhaustion.
Itâs a heady mix of racing brain and a barely-able-to-stand-up physical depletion thatâs equal parts intoxicating and exhilarating.

Weâre currently shooting âsplits,â which means half of our shoot days are DAY and half are NIGHT.
.
Our call time today is at 3pm, and we work til 3.30 am.
Splits are a bit easier than full on night shoots which would be 7pm to 7am - bit still - as someone who wakes up by 6 am most days, itâs a tough adjustement.
.
But the shooting is going sssssss great!
(In case youâre wondering:)
Iâm soooo excited to have these incredible actors in front of the camera finally.
This project came together so quickly itâs amazing that it was just a glint of an idea that first sparked in December.
.
But itâs also such a great reminder that films donât have to take years and years to happen.
Itâs something Iâm gonna work hard to keep front and center in my brain moving forward.
Because I dont want to spend years between projects.

Iâve been doing my morning pages every day before shooting and drawing a daily Tarot card.
(Sometimes itâs nice to use a card as a starting place for morning pages, especially if Iâm tired of my relentless inner monologue)
.
Here ar ethe cards I pulled week one of shooting.
Iâm not gonna lie - the Swords from yesterday and today are a bit unsetling, but Iâm choosing to take the âNo Bad Cardsâ approach and think about even the scary ones with openess and curiosity.
.
But if you want to light a candle / say a prayer / send good vibes to our scrappy little film shoot - weâll take it.
:)
Indie filmmaking is tough, and weâll take all the help and love we can get.
